ORGANISED AROUND OLYMPIQUE LYONNAIS, THE FOOTBALL CLUB FOUNDED IN 1950 AND HEADED BY JEAN-MICHEL AULAS SINCE 1987, OL GROUPE IS A LEADER IN THE ENTERTAINMENT AND MEDIA SECTOR IN FRANCE.
The Group's activities are articulated around six complementary sources of revenue:
- SPONSORING AND ADVERTISING
- MEDIA AND MARKETING RIGHTS
- BRAND-RELATED REVENUE (derivative products, image/video, etc.),
- PLAYER TRADING
On 9 January 2016, OL Groupe inaugurated its new stadium and thus became the only club in France to have, similarly to the most prestigious European clubs, a 100% privately-owned stadium. Operation of this ultra-modern, multi-functional stadium, open 365 days a year, constitutes a major new source of medium-term growth for the Group.
In addition, training young players in the OL Academy remains a pillar of the Group’s strategy. The Academy is a recurrent source of talented young players, and the Group capitalises on this when they join the professional team.
Lastly, the Chinese investment fund IDG European Sports Investment Ltd became a shareholder in early 2017 and formed the Beijing OL FC joint venture with the Group. These developments will accelerate the international reach of the OL brand.
